Today’s devotion: “I have not abandoned this sin-wracked world; I am still richly present in it!” ~Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
Just pause on that for a moment, there is no coincidence that this message is marked with today’s date, May 23rd in Sarah Young’s devotional, Jesus Calling.
With every new day there are new and unexpected trials at varying degrees for all of us. Just imagine being a parent in the UK waking up today without your child due to the senseless act of misguided ideologists, who have taken religious text out of context, deliberately, to justify and commit such evil on earth. Oh how the enemy prowls, steals, kills and destroys!
It is nearly incomprehensible for even the faithful to think that Jesus did not abandon that parent or that child during this event, and it is my belief that He was and is present. Present to receive that innocent child, present to receive that parent in pain during this massive trial, even if caused by the enemy. We do not, cannot and will not know the plans of our Heavenly Father in these circumstances, but we can be sure that He is in control and knows what is best and will do what is best for those who love Him. This is promised.
In our shared pain and sorrow for parents who have lost their children, and children who have lost their parents and others in the wake of this tragedy, we must lift them up and continue to praise God who is Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Nissi, meaning that our God is The Lord Who Provides, The Lord Who Heals, The Lord Who Is Our Banner (Who fights for us). None are forsaken, none are forgotten.
Let us lock arms today in prayer and lament for the innocent lost and their loved ones left behind, praising our God for His greatness and His bigger plan that we can’t possibly comprehend. Let us pray for our Lord to intervene in the minds of those who are being deceived by the enemy to commit such atrocities; that He would penetrate their minds and hearts with burning truth and radical love to condemn their deceiver, and move in the name of Jesus, Amen.
As of today the Christian Coffee Talk for Women Online Community is a group of over 2000 women in Christ. We can create a massive wake through prayer together in Jesus name. Let us be who we are united in the Army of God!
